How has Breeze changed in every patch?

Breeze has been changed in 9 patches, most recently in patch 12.00. Each entry links to the full notes.

  1. Patch 12.00
    • Adjustment Breeze is back-and has received our biggest map rework yet! We've made significant changes across the entire map to reduce angle complexity, tighten open spaces, and improve rotation times for defenders. The sun's still shining, but a lot of your old setups probably won't work. Check out this video to take a look at the changes.
    • Breeze Rework Event: For the first 2 weeks of Competitive, Breeze RR losses are reduced by 50%, wins are still 100% (to also help you learn the map!)
    • Breeze is IN the Competitive and Deathmatch queues.
  2. Patch 9.05
    • New map: "Breeze" enters Unrated & Swiftplay queues.
  3. Patch 8.01
    • A Halls reopened
      • We’re still observing and gathering feedback on the most recent Breeze changes. We’ve been satisfied with the simplifications to A Main, Mid and B Site. However, we’ve noticed that attacking can feel overly restrictive due to the changes in addition to the closure of A Hall. As a result, we’re reopening A Hall to give attackers more options while retaining the rest of the changes to the map.
    • Breeze
      • Fixed a bug where the A Hall Door was starting in the open position.
  4. Patch 7.05
  5. Patch 7.04
    • Breeze will be rotating back into the Competitive and Unrated map pool.
    • Mid Pillar
      • One side has been closed off and boxes have been added.
    • Mid Cubby
      • One side of the pillar has been closed off.
    • B Site
      • Boxes have been added and parts of the wall around B Site have been removed and added.
    • B Back
      • Boxes have been added and the stairs have been removed and walled off.
    • A Hall
      • Part of the hall has been walled off with a fence.
    • Mid Wood Doors
      • Boxes have been added and door has been opened fully.
    • A Cave
      • Interior has been widened and boxes have been added.
    • A Shop
      • Entrance and interior have been widened.
    • A Site
      • Pyramids have been made taller.
  6. Patch 6.0
    • Please note that Breeze and Bind have now been removed from competitive and Unrated map rotation, but are still playable in all other modes.
  7. Patch 4.0
    • Increased the width of the A Main choke and removed 50/50s (where you must choose one of two locations an opponent may be located)
      • This should give defenders more options when playing around A Main. It also removes the 50/50 when both entering or exiting the cave, allowing you to be more methodical when pushing.
    • Added a stack of two crates in cave
      • This provides some cover for attackers pushing the cave while also giving defenders more options for contesting the space.
    • Adjusted cover on the back of A Site and extended the pool to the far wall
      • The cover changes should give defenders both a safe place to fall back to and more cover on retakes. Extending the pool should make playing in this space more comfortable.
      • Plant site extension is also to match the new shape of the pool.
    • Adjusted curved wall in mid
      • This change simplifies the space and removes the extra pocket.
    • Added cover to the pillar on B Site, blocked off the back site with a new wall, and added a stack of crates to B Wall
      • The new cover on the pillar allows for new pre and post plant opportunities.
      • The adjusted back site breaks the head peek to B Main while also giving players new cover to work with. This new cover should be useful when falling back and retaking.
    • The new stack of crates limits some angles from B Main, gives you new options when holding or retaking, and should break up some awkward fights that can occur on thin walls.
    • Door on A can no longer be reactivated until it is finished opening or closing
  8. Patch 2.09
    • Blocked vision of the gaps above Mid-Wood Doors and A Metal Doors
    • Smoothed player collision in various locations
    • Fixed a number of exploits around the map
    • Fixed an issue where players could sandwich themselves in between Sage’s wall and the Mechanical Doors on Breeze (or Ascent)
  9. Patch 2.08
    • Breeze will launch alongside a Breeze-only Unrated queue that will remain active for two weeks
      • More details on this queue can be found in the Competitive Updates section below.
