How has Lotus changed in every patch?
Lotus has been changed in 11 patches, most recently in patch 12.05. Each entry links to the full notes.
-
- Attacker lobby wall thickened to remove wall penetration off barrier drop
- Jump up to Vines moved to help attackers get out of Lobby and avoid utility dump.
- Wall outside of Tree room has been reinforced to remove wall penetration.
- Extra room added outside of A-site stairs to help hold A-site and let defenders play further back from rubble
- A-site plant zone has changed so you can no longer plant for breakable/link
-
- Lotus enters Competitive, Unrated, Swiftplay, and Deathmatch queues.
-
- Lotus
- Fixed a bug where you could stand on top of the crumbled pillar on C Site.
- Lotus
-
- A Main
- More room has been added to A Main along with a set of boxes to give Defenders some more options to fight for A Rubble control.
- The double stack of boxes outside A Stairs has been changed to non-penetrable to reduce the likelihood of being spammed.
- A Link
- More room has been added near the breakable door. It was always a little awkward to fight out of the broken door, but now it should be easier to fight out from inside the connector room.
- A Hut
- A Hut has been closed to help give some more readability to the plant site, making it easier to retake. A cubby has also been added to the back of A Hut for more defender options to hold the site.
- B Site
- More room and boxes have been added to B Site to add some defensibility closer to the choke on site.
- C Site
- The Spike plant zone and the stairs in C Bend have been adjusted to allow for more diversity of Spike plant locations in C Site.
- Boxes on the back of site have been adjusted.
- C Bend
- More room and boxes have been added in C Main to also add some defensibility closer to the front of Main.
- Boxes have been added to C Bend along with some extra room to fight from.
- Rotating Doors
- Rotating doors now take 10 seconds to fully complete their spin, up from 8 previously. 8 seconds was not enough time to use utility through the doors or fight, and make it through the doors on the same rotation. The extra time should allow for more fights to happen through the doors, and most everyone to get through the door on time.
- Increased the time it takes for rotating doors to complete their rotation 8s → 10s
- B Orb
- B Orb has been removed in order to bring it more in line with our other maps (with Fracture being the exception with 4).
- B Orb was very farmable by Attackers so it’s another way we are trying to address the Attacker sidedness of the map.
- A Main
-
- Updated the destruction VFX for the destructible door located between A Link to A Main in order to make it easier to see through as it falls away.
-
- Players will no longer make footstep audio when dropping from Lotus B site platform to the fountain
- Lotus door volume has been lowered further (we lowered in 6.01 as well) during the rotation phase
- On Lotus, players next to each other while rotating door…rotates should feel smoother
- On Lotus, fixed an issue where players were spawning on the wrong side of barrier near C site if standing on rotating door at round end
-
- The volume for the rotating doors has been reduced while rotating. Please let us know what you think.
- The Lotus-only queue has been removed.
- Lotus will now be included in the map rotation for Unrated and Competitive.
- There are several bug fixes for Lotus. Thanks to everyone who reported issues! Here are a few highlights:
- Boost exploit in the back of B Site has been removed.
- You can no longer get yourself stuck in the rotating doors (we're pretty sure anyway, let us know if you find a way—also, you’re all very creative!)
- Breach can now use abilities on both rotating doors.
- The destructible door located at A Link now has working vision cones.
- The Spike can no longer get lost in the back of A Site.
- Fixed a broken Spike plant spot on A Site.
-
- Lotus is a new 3-site map that offers a variety of rotation options. Unlock the secrets behind the doors of these ancient ruins.
- Please note that the Lotus only queue will only be playable in Swiftplay mode for one week and then goes into the competitive and Unrated map rotation in Patch 6.1.
