How has Abyss changed in every patch?

Abyss has been changed in 5 patches, most recently in patch 12.05. Each entry links to the full notes.

  1. Patch 12.05
    • Abyss and Corrode are OUT of Competitive and Deathmatch queues.
  2. Patch 11.08
    • B-Site
      • Site Changes - Currently both teams are having a tough time playing on-site—Defenders struggle with the initial site hold, while Attackers have difficulty holding the spike during post-plant and feel forced to plant for main. We want to take a pass at improving on-site play for both teams while also making post-plants for main more risky.
    • Mid
      • Mid Hallway Changes - We want to help open up quicker macro pathing options for both teams. We’re adjusting the hallway in Mid that leads towards B Main to allow for improved flow through the map for both teams.
  3. Patch 10.04
    • Abyss and Bind are OUT of the COMPETITIVE and DEATHMATCH queues.
  4. Patch 9.0
    • Abyss
      • Fixed several unintended boost positions.
      • Fixed bugs allowing players to get under the map.
      • A Site cover should now properly appear in Omen and Astra smoke targeting world.
        • Fixed an Omen exploit allowing him to get between the spawn barriers.
  5. Patch 8.11
    • NEW MAP: ABYSS
      • A 5v5 spike mode map that provides thrilling danger with its precarious pitfalls (watch your step) and vertical gameplay. ABYSS is the first VALORANT map that has no boundaries and takes place in the secret hidden fortress of the Scions of the Hourglass.
      • Abyss is our newest map and features three lanes and two sites.
