How has the Ares changed in every patch?

The Ares has been changed in 6 patches since the closed beta, most recently in patch 9.05. Each entry links to the full notes for that patch.

  1. Patch 9.05
    • Revert crouch benefits nerf from standard 25% back to 40%
      • Crouching is better again and is now the same as Odin.
    • Headshot multiplier adjusted from 2.4 → 2.5
      • This makes an Ares kill in 2 headshots while within 30m when previously it would have done 144 damage.
  2. Patch 4.01
    • Price increased from 1550 → 1600
    • Pitch recoil increased
    • Spread changed from.8 →.7 after 10 bullets to 1.0 →.7 after 13 bullets
    • Crouch benefits spread and recoil reduced from 40% → 25%
  3. Patch 4.0
    • Removed spin up
    • Firing rate increased from 10 → 13
  4. Patch 3.0
    • Cost decreased 1600 → 1550
  5. Patch 1.10
    • Kill Reloads: On every kill, players get an automatic, immediate full reload of their active weapon. (Ares & Odin get 30 bullets back)
      • It already felt a little frustrating to have to reload in Deathmatch, and now that player count is higher, reloading feels like even more of a deathwish.
  6. Patch 0.50
    • Ares
      • Price reduced from 1700 to 1600 creds
      • Firing Error (this value is a curve that has intermediate values between each bullet; bullet 2 has slightly less error than bullet 1, and so on)
        • Bullet 1: 1.0° >> 0.8°
        • Bullet 5: 0.85° >> 0.75°
        • Bullet 10: 0.75° >> 0.7°
      • Reduced the amount and intensity of horizontal (Yaw) Recoil after the first 8 bullets.
