Have you ever found yourself in a tight spot during a match, feeling like you are moving slowly suddenly after getting hit by an ability, almost like being dizzy? If that happened, then you would have been concussed by the enemy.

Concussion ability in Valorant makes you move slowly and hard to aim, making you vulnerable to those head dinks from enemies. Let’s learn more about concussion ability, agents and abilities, concuss durations, and how you can use it to turn around the round.

What is the Concuss Ability?

What is Concuss ability in Valorant, Which Agents have Concuss Ability, How to Use Concuss to Win Every Match in Valorant - Valobuff

Concuss is a key crowd control ability in Valorant designed to slow down and dizzy the players for a few seconds(2-5 seconds). It doesn’t necessarily do damage, but it makes it harder for the player to move or shoot when concussed.

Concuss Effects

When you’re caught in Concuss, whether it’s Breach’s Fault Line, Thunder or Cypher’s Tripwire, you will explain many effects, such as slow movement listed below.

  • Slowed Movement: You won’t be able to sprint away quickly; instead, you’ll walk like a snail for a few seconds.
  • Reduced Fire Rate: Your shots won’t come out as fast as they should, and the fire rate is below 40%.
  • Restricted Aiming: It becomes trickier to line up those headshots; the weapon moves more randomly.
  • Blurry Vision: Your surroundings will appear hazy, making it hard to spot enemies.
  • Audio Distortion: Sounds may seem muted or off, affecting situational awareness and making you unable to react to those footsteps.
  • Unable to use ADS: Unable to use ADS (right click) and crosshair moves uncontrollably.

How to Counteract Concuss Effects in Valorant?

Can you escape from the concuss in Valorant? In most cases, you can. There are things you can do not to get caught in the concuss, and even if you get concussed, you can kill the enemy before they hit you. Personally, I have evaded Concuss many times and won duels caught in Concuss before they could pull off that headshot, even though crosshair makes it feel like the ping is higher than 300s.

  • Stay Aware: Play with caution, as there are signs that the concussive ability is being used. For instance, Astra’s Starts or Neon’s Relay Bolt display a concuss area; evade those areas if possible.
  • Headshots: Bet on your luck here and aim for headshots only. This works most of the time. You are not moving, and your aim stabilizes even if the crosshair moves like crazy. You only need to land one shot to win that duel, even if caught in the concuss.

Conclusion: Mastering Valorant Concuss

Concuss is a valuable crowd control ability in Valorant that lasts more than 3 to 6 seconds. It allows the player to move or land shots on enemy players. Many agents, such as Astra, Gekko, Neon, Cypher, Breach, Skye, and Harbor, possess this ability.

Concussions can come from allies; it’s not hard to evade, whether it’s friendly or enemy fire. This ability can turn the game’s tides if used properly. For instance, the Rolling Thunder of Breach is often a game-changer in maps like Haven, Ascent, and Abyss.

With that said, use concussion in your next match; you might increase your win percentage from 40% to 80% if you do it properly.
