Two more teams made it to the VALORANT Champions 2025 playoffs today. But the biggest news might be Jake “Boaster” Howlett making tournament history.

Team Heretics Beats T1 Easily

Team Heretics vs T1 2 0 2025 Valorant Championship

Team Heretics won against T1 by winning both maps (2-0). The Spanish team played perfectly in their group stage. They didn’t lose a single map on their way to the playoffs.

Lotus (13-10)

Heretics played defense first and took control early. They led 8-4 at halftime. T1 tried to come back in the second half but Heretics made smart plays to win the map. Mert “Wo0t” Alkan played really well with his Chamber character. He got 23 kills and helped his team win important rounds.

Sunset (13-11)

The second map was much closer. Both teams were tied at halftime. Then they kept trading rounds back and forth. When the score was 11-11, Heretics won the last two rounds to take the series. Kim “Meteor” Tae-oh from T1 played amazing (24 kills) but his team still lost.

Enes “RieNs” Ecirli won the MVP award for being steady on both maps. He made good decisions and helped his team win.

Fnatic Beats MIBR in Close Match

FNATIC vs MIBR 2 0 2025 Valorant Championship

Group B had an exciting winners’ match. Fnatic beat MIBR 2-1 in a very close series. This win puts another European team in the playoffs.

Bind (5-13)

MIBR came out strong on their first map pick. Erick “aspas” Santos led the attack and got the first kill in four different rounds. Fnatic couldn’t find their rhythm and lost badly.

Abyss (13-7)

Fnatic came back on MIBR’s map choice. They worked together well and made smart plays. Emir “Alfajer” Ali Beder played great defense and stopped MIBR’s plans.

Haven (13-10)

The final map was very exciting. Fnatic led 8-4 after defense. Then MIBR almost came back, winning five of the next six rounds. Just when it looked like MIBR might win, Timofey “Chronicle” Khromov won a 1v3 situation to end the match and send Fnatic to playoffs.

Boaster Makes History

Boaster Makes VALORANT History While Heretics and Fnatic Reach Championships Playoffs

While aspas got the most kills with 54, the biggest story is about Boaster. The Fnatic captain became one of only three players to make all five VALORANT Champions tournaments (2021-2025).

Boaster joins Yu “BuZz” Byung-chul from T1 and Kim “MaKo” Myeong-kwan from DRX. Only these three players have been good enough for five straight years.

This is extra special because Boaster leads his team and calls strategies. Staying at championship level while being the team captain for five years shows how good he is.

Four Teams Made Playoffs

After today’s games, four teams have made the playoffs,

  • Paper Rex (Group A)
  • NRG (Group C)
  • Team Heretics (Group D)
  • Fnatic (Group B)

These teams get to rest for a week while other teams fight to join them.

Important Matches Coming Up

The pressure is huge for teams that haven’t made playoffs yet. Tomorrow’s matches decide who goes home,

Group C: Team Liquid vs EDward Gaming
Group A: XLG Esports vs Sentinels
Group B: MIBR vs winner of Bilibili Gaming vs Rex Regum Qeon
Group D: G2 Esports vs Dragon Ranger Gaming

These matches decide which teams join the playoff bracket. The defending champions EDward Gaming might go home if they lose to Team Liquid.

Every round matters now. The safe teams get time to prepare while eight teams fight for their tournament lives.

Champions 2025 keeps giving us shocking results and amazing plays. Boaster’s historic record caps off another exciting day in Paris.
