Valorant Episode 8 Act 3 went live with the Patch Update 8.08 which went live on throughout all servers on April, 30th 2024 at 10 PT in North America Region. A new map was expected during Episode 8 Act 3 of Valorant with changes to the competitive map pool.
There were quite the changes made in this Patch Update, but the talk about this update has been the current Valorant Map Pool and the New Map that is going to be added to the game.
Let’s find out if the new map Bastion was added to the game, when will it be available, what type of map it will be and can we see it on the competitive map pool or will it be another team deathmatch map.
New Map on Valorant
According to the leaks from Valorant data miners, there will be a new map added to the Valorant map pool but unfortunately we won’t see it in Episode 8 Act 3. Instead, it was said that the new map will go live in the game with the conclusion of VCT Masters Shangai.
Bastion Map Leak
It’s not the first time that upcoming map or agent details got leaked before the release. Back in March 2024 it was leaked that the new map Bastion will be soon added to the game and it was expected to go live during Episode 8 Act 3.
However, from what we see we’ll have to wait until Masters Shangai is concluded to see or test the new map in the game. Bastion map is said to be a TDM map, but it can either be a normal map that can be seen on Unrated or Competitive map pool.
However, from what we see from the leaks on Twitter/X about map Bastion, there is a huge potential that it could be another team deathmatch map. This is mostly because the leaked images of the Bastion map seems too small and not large enough to be included in the competitive map pool.
Valorant Patch Notes 8.08
Patch 8.08 update contained multiple nerfs to agents Cypher and Viper. There were also some bug fixes, gameplay improvements and additional updates to the Premier Game Mode. However, one of the major points of talk about Episode 8 Act 3 has been the changes to the map pool.
Valorant Map Pool Changes
The Valorant competitive map pool change was expected at the beginning of Episode 8 Act 3. Players were hoping to see Haven back in the Competitive map pool by the last act of Episode 8.
Unfortunately Riot has decided not to make any changes to the current competitive map pool. Haven, Pearl, and Fracture is still out of the map pool while seven other competitive maps are still in the rotation.
The Conclusion
Bastion map tweaks were leaked in March 2024, according to the data found by Valorant data miners on X (previously known as Twitter). The map can be either a normal map or a team deathmatch map, but it seems that Bastion will be a tdm map since it’s smaller for a competitive map.
Even though it was expected during the Episode 8 Act 3 during the patch update 8.08 released on April 30, 2024 the Bastion map was not included. Then it was said that Bastion will be released after concluding the VCT Masters Shangai 2024.
