Increasing agent roaster was expected during the next patch update in Episode 8 Act 2 in the 8.05 Patch Notes. As expected Clove, the most awaited controller has been added to the game which was revealed in the Valorant Masters Madrid tournament where Sentinels won.
Apart from that there are a couple of updates made in the game such as premier changes, voice indicator changes, and gameplay changes with a couple of bug fixes as well. With that said, let’s find out what you can find in the Valorant Patch Notes 8.05.
Patch 8.05 Release Date and Time
Valorant patch 8.05 was released on 26, March 2024 around 1-2 pm EST with a few upgrades made to the gameplay systems, voice indicators, premier game mode, and the Clove, a new controller agent was added.

Download size of the Patch 8.05 of Valorant was around 1.9 GB which is average compared to other patch note download sizes ranging from 1.5-2 GB.
Agent Updates
Clove
Scottish agent that puts enemy on the edge even from the grave, who can resurrect herself playing the controller role. Clove is the sixth controller to be added to the Valorant agent selection.
Abilities
- Ruse (E): Equip the map and FIRE to select a cloud location to cover your teammates and entrances from the enemies. Alt-Fire fires up the clouds in selected locations, Clove also can use this ability after death.
- Meddle (Q): FIRE to use a fragment of immortality essence that erupts after a short delay and short decay of enemies caught.
- Pick-me-up (C): Absorb the life force of a fallen enemy that Clove killed or damaged, gaining haste and temporary health.
- Not Dead Yet (X): Activate after dying to resurrect and once resurrected, Clove must get an assist or a kill in a few seconds to stay alive. If they fail to get a kill or assist, then Clove will die again.
Premier Updates
Phone Number Verification
A cooldown period between phone number verification attempts was added to stop players trying to use different numbers. If there are any issues with phone number verification you can contact the Valorant player support and get it resolved quickly.
Social Updates
Voice Indicators
Voice indicators that appear above the head of an agent have been updated as you can see who you can hear or can’t hear more clearly. The voice icon will display if a teammate has been muted or disconnected, and identify if the teammate is using party voice. The team voice icon has not been changed.
Bug Fixes
Agents
- The issue where Iso’s Kill Contact (X) cover walls are not appearing when the user is on an unstable network has been fixed.
Gameplay Systems
- Multispeaker surround systems like 5.1 and 7.1 are now fully supported without affecting the stereo mix.
Premier
- Team creation deadline references have been removed but there are some team creation deadline references that are no longer valid.
- The queue button displays the correct error message when a player reaches the weekly match limit in premier mode.
The Conclusion
In Patch Note 8.05, the major update was the addition of the Clove agent to the controller flock being the sixth controller agent and Agent 25 in the Valorant agent roaster. As for other agents, Iso’s ultimate ability bug was fixed for players with unstable connection.
There are some updates and bug fixes made in the Valorant Premier game mode for phone number verification and queue display buttons. As for the game systems, there is a bug fix in the surround sound system and voice indicator update as well in the Patch 8.05.
